Description of the Meeting

Asian Research Symposium in Rhinology (ARSR) established in 1996 with a mission to educate and train residents and research fellows on rhinologic diseases, to build mutual cooperation among Asian Rhinologists for a final goal of a better patient care.

The main activity of ARSR is to have an annual symposium presenting basic and clinical researches as well as the forum for exchanging ideas and research data in the topic of infection – inflammation – immunology, tumor, trauma and congenital disease of the nose.

Twenty-two-year existence has been proven that ARSR brings an academic atmosphere providing the best science and practise for scientific surgeons, research scientists and leaders in the fields. One of the flagship is the Asian Rhinology Journal called ARJ launched in 2013 during 16th ARSR in Tokyo, Japan. It is an online jounal head-quartered in Thailand. http://thailand.digitaljournals.org/index.php/ARJ to accommodate and publish papers that presented during ARSR.

It is a great honor for Rhinology Study Group Indonesia to organize th 19th ARSR meeting in conjunction with the 2nd Indonesian Rhinology Conference (Indo-Rhino). Indonesia is appointed for the second time to organize the meeting after the 7th ARSR in 2002. It was Dr. Damayanti Soetjipto in charged as the ARSR President.

In scientific activities, the 19th ARSR and 2nd IndoRhino will accommodate two others Study Group under the umbrella of The Indonesian ORL-HNS Society, ie. Allergy-Immunology and Plastic Reconstructive Study Group. The paralel meeting will be arranged by each Study Group to achieve the latest updated knowledge, understanding and surgeon’s skill competence.

To foster academic scientific environment of each countries’ participants, the 19th ARSR and 2nd IndoRhino  organizing committee organize competition for young surgeons and reseachers under 40 years.  The best representative of each country could only be selected from at least 5 papers submitted per country. The winner of each country will receive waived of registration fee, travel expenses and twin sharring accommodation. The candidates should only come from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, India and ASEAN countries
